Engineers are divided into design engineers, installation engineers, service engineers, and production engineers. This division exists in all technical fields: aviation, rocketry, automotive, shipbuilding, construction of buildings and structures, information technology, communications, chemical engineering, energy, fuel industry, production of means of production, and others. For example, let's consider the field of communications. Communication engineer is a broad concept. There are many specializations within this profession. In recent years, with the development of wireless technologies, their number is growing. Communication engineers are engaged in the installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of communication equipment: PBX (automatic telephone exchanges), cellular networks. In cellular networks, in turn, there is a division into switch engineers - the "heart and brain of the network", base station network engineers (towers), and engineers of the so-called transport network. Nowadays, when information technology actively merges with telecommunications, it is already difficult to say whether a person is a communicator or an "IT specialist". Modern communication networks are often built on servers, high-performance computers, and knowledge of information technology is absolutely necessary for a communicator. Communication engineers work in telephone companies (urban, regional, long-distance, international), Internet and TV providers based on the telephone network, cellular communication companies, satellite communication companies. These specialists are in demand in communication equipment manufacturing companies of all types in order to serve their customers, communication operators. They have to work with a keyboard and monitor, and connect special cables and wires for data transmission and connecting one communication node to another. And before doing all this work, it is necessary to study the schemes, network topology, and other documents describing the parameters that need to be set.
